It is a pleasure to introduce you to Riverdale Baptist Church. It is our
mission to develop and deploy authentic Disciples for Kingdom purposes. In
order to make this a reality, we have taken some dramatic steps of faith as a
church family. As you look at the various aspects of RBC, you will notice a
number of features that distinguish us from the traditional style churches.
We do not exist to see how many members we can get, but rather to help
facilitate the experience of Christian growth for those who desire to be
Disciples of Jesus Christ. As such, Riverdale seeks to be a 1st century church
in a 21st
century world. We recognize that a church must be biblically based in everything
it does and at the same time must be relevant to our present generation. In
other words, we seek to live at the intersection of both the biblical world and
modern world. This puts us on the cutting edge of Christianity as we live in a
21st century world.
Everything we are and do at Riverdale revolves around our commitment to be
authentic Disciples of Jesus Christ. From our contemporary style of worship to
our very organization and infrastructure, we are designed in such a way as to
promote and produce healthy Christian disciples. Although we have no perfect
Disciples at RBC, we are committed to sharing together the journey of living out
our faith in today�s world. As such, we are far more interested in authentic
Discipleship rather than typical church membership. Our mission of developing
and deploying authentic Disciples is the driving force behind all that is done.
Along with contemporary worship experiences designed to help people
connect with God, we also offer small group ministries (L.I.F.E. groups) to help
people connect with each other. It is primarily in the context of these small
groups that we seek to develop Disciple-style relationships with other people.
It is also in the context of these relationships that we seek to carry out a
variety of ministries. Our Discipleship development is also enriched by the
Institute of Discipleship Development which offers opportunities for
Discipleship growth each Sunday morning before community worship.
Disciples at Riverdale are viewed as full time ministers and you will be
free to use your spiritual gift and to follow your spiritual passion in the
context of RBC�s mission and values. As we develop Disciples, we seek to deploy
them right back into the ministry. We desire to express our Discipleship in
terms of Kingdom of God lifestyles in a modern world.
You will be made to feel right at home at Riverdale. When you visit with
us, we will seek to meet you personally. We will not publicly recognize or
identify you in any way. We will protect your desire to simply observe what is
going on at Riverdale. Although you may receive an invitation to visit a small
group or to worship with us again, we will not try to get you to join anything.
As a matter of fact, if Riverdale is not the right place for you, we are
available to help facilitate your search for the church home that God has in
mind for you!
